Operation Guide for the Administrator

Group Management

You can access this function from Utility under Admin Mode.

Overview

In Group Management, the administrator can create groups, select any users or devices in the tenant, and register them with one or more groups. More than one group can be registered, and a group can be registered with another group.

Item Description
(Menu button) Clicking displays the pull-down menu.
Registers a new group
Deletes one or more groups for which the checkbox is selected in the group list
Search box Enter a keyword to search for a group. You can enter a group name, group ID, or group description as a keyword.
Click to clear the search condition, filter, and sort condition to return the group list to its initial display.
These icons are displayed when the cursor is hovered over a group line.
  • : Displays the screen for editing the group
  • : Deletes the group
Filters groups by Microsoft Entra ID linked status for display in the group list. S select the Microsoft Entra ID linked status from the drop-down list for display.
Displayed only when a group is synchronized with Microsoft Entra ID
Filters groups by tag for display in the group list. Select the tag from the drop-down list for display. This is displayed only when one or more groups use tags.
Selects the items for display in the group list. Check the items for display.
  • If all items are unchecked, the group list only displays group names.

Upper Limits in Registration

The table below lists the upper limits on the number of items that can be registered with a group, along with that of members that can belong to a group. Do not exceed these for normal operation.

Maximum number of users that can be registered with a group 1,000 users
Maximum number of devices that can be registered with a group 100 devices
Maximum number of groups that can be registered with a group 100 groups
Maximum number of groups that a user/device/group can belong to 10 groups
Maximum depth of hierarchy of a group containing groups 10 levels
